Biography
Hamid Mcheick, a Senior Member of the IEEE, earned his Ph.D. in software engineering and distributed systems from the University of Montreal, Canada. Currently serving as a Full Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Québec at Chicoutimi, Canada, he possesses over 20 years of comprehensive experience in both academic and industrial domains. Dr. Mcheick's research focuses on the design and adaptation of distributed and intelligent software applications.
With a substantial record of academic guidance, he has supervised numerous postdoctoral, Ph.D., master's, and bachelor's students. His scholarly contributions include nine book chapters, over 50 research papers in international journals, and more than 130 research papers in international and national conference and workshop proceedings. Dr. Mcheick has been a featured speaker in keynote speeches and tutorials, particularly in the realms of healthcare systems, pervasive and ubiquitous computing, distributed middleware architectures, software connectors, service-oriented computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile edge computing, fog computing, and cloud computing.
His expertise has been recognized through grants received from governments, industry, and academia. Dr. Mcheick actively engages with various organizations worldwide, serving as Editor-in-Chief, chair, co-chair, reviewer, and member in entities such as ACM, Springer, Elsevier, and Inderscience. His multifaceted contributions demonstrate his commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of computer science and software engineering.
