Biography

Janusz Kacprzyk holds the position of full professor at the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, located in Warsaw, 01-447, Poland. Additionally, he is a distinguished full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences, and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. With a notable academic career, he has been honored with six honorary doctorates. Professor Kacprzyk's primary research interests encompass computational and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on fuzzy logic applications in systems, decision-making, and control. His extensive academic contributions include the authorship of seven books, 150 volumes, and over 650 articles, including approximately 100 published in Web of Science journals. Notably, he serves as the editor-in-chief of Springer's seven-book series. Recognizing his outstanding contributions, Professor Kacprzyk earned a place in the "World's 2% Top Scientists" in 2020. He holds the prestigious title of Fellow in several esteemed organizations, including IEEE, the International Fuzzy Systems Association, European Association for Artificial Intelligence, and the Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, he assumes the role of the president of the Polish Operational and Systems Research Society, further illustrating his leadership in the field.
